Heidi Cuthbert has been named among Western Australia’s top young talent at this year’s Business News 40under40 Awards.
Ms Cuthbert is the managing director of marketing and investor relations firm Multiplier Media, and the co-founder of blockchain and cryptocurrency media company Coincast Media.
The annual 40under40 awards celebrate Western Australia’s leading business entrepreneurs under the age of 40, recognising commercial drive, professional achievements and contribution to the Western Australian community.
“I am honoured to be recognised alongside many inspiring and innovative individuals. These awards demonstrate the breadth of ideas and talent in Western Australia,” Ms Cuthbert said.
Developing an entrepreneurial mindset from a young age, Ms Cuthbert started selling jewellery at local markets, which saw her gain national recognition in teen magazine Dolly and receive a Telstra Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Ms Cuthbert has worked for Channel 9 and Channel 10 in Sydney as a TV news reporter, before becoming an anchor for Bloomberg Television in the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions.
Backed by more than 15 years of news and corporate communications experience, Ms Cuthbert started Multiplier Media with her husband Jon in 2016, which has since grown to 11 staff.
The company develops content which has been published or broadcast by global media giants including Forbes, Sky News and the Wall Street Journal.
“We wanted to build a company that would challenge the traditional media business model. Our team is always looking at new ways to deliver stories across a range of media channels,” said Ms Cuthbert.
Ms Cuthbert now consults to a range of businesses, including ASX Top 200 companies as well as fast-growing startups, tech businesses and blockchain firms.
In 2018, Ms Cuthbert formed Coincast Media, a joint-venture partnership with blockchain advisory firm DigitalX, directing operations and production of the company’s international media publishing arms Coincast TV and Coincast News.
Coincast TV is the world’s first mainstream TV show on blockchain and cryptocurrency, with Season 1 broadcast on Sky Business, Apple TV and The Wall Street Journal.
The show was recently picked up by international streaming platform DIVAN.TV, with viewers spanning 200 countries including Russia, Japan, Spain, China, Korea and India.
“I am very proud of what our team has achieved so far – we’re a small team operating out of Perth, Western Australia, yet we’re at the forefront of blockchain technology and taking our show to the world,” Ms Cuthbert said.
