Auto giants Honda and General Motors are looking to use blockchain in their latest electric car battery project.

The auto companies are planning to look at how blockchain-backed smart grids can interact with electric car batteries.

The project is part of the Mobility Open Blockchain Initiative (MOBI) standards body, of which both auto organisations are members.
