UK wallet provider Blockchain has announced it will be launching the biggest crypto airdrop giving away US$125 million worth of Stellar Lumens tokens according to Yahoo Finance.
Announced at the Web Summit in Lisbon on Tuesday, Blockchain CEO Peter Smith said the XLM token airdrop would be made available to Blockchains near 30 million users.
Stellar Lumen tokens are already one of the biggest cryptocurrencies with a market value of close to US$5 billion.
The tokens were created by XRP co-founder Jed McCaleb who said the airdrop was launched to help make the digital economy more accessible.
“We believe that airdrops are central to creating a more inclusive digital economy. Giving away lumens [XLM] for free is an invitation to communities to design the services they need,” said McCaleb in a statement.
Customers who verify their crypto wallets with Blockchain will be eligible for the airdrop which will run until mid 2019.
