Yahoo Finance has made the buying and selling of Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin available on its platform.
Statistics for other digital currencies, including Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum Classic, have previously been accessible on the platform, but without trading options.
Data used on Yahoo Finance will be pulled from CryptoCompare.
The announcement marks an important advancement for digital currency uptake, with other crypto statistics to maintain presence on the platform, and the buying and selling of these to potentially expand in the near future.
Earlier this year, Yahoo Japan announced that it would open a cryptocurrency exchange in 2019.
Publication Nikkei Asian Review reported that it planned to buy 40 percent of BitARG Exchange Tokyo, as the first step in building its infrastructure to launch an exchange.
Nikkei Asian Review said the acquisition of the BitARG shares would be made through wholly owned Yahoo subsidiary Tokyo’s YJFK and that the 40 percent stake would cost the company 2 billion yen (US$18 million).
